Lewis McKillop - Currumbin Wildlife Hospital

In this episode of Peek Inside the Panic Room, Matt chats to Lewis McKillop, Head of Research at the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. There is a silent killer of Koala's in the Elanora area of the Gold Coast, Chlamydia is a real concern for the Koala population of the southern Gold Coast suburb. With the support of QUT, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is running a vaccine trial and is seeing some great results. Matt discovers the reasons for the outbreak and exactly how CWH are managing the trial.
In any calendar year the Hospital could see up the 14,000 visitors needing treatment and help is needed to ensure they can provide the care necessary. Over 140 volunteers  help out and there can be up to 300 animals on foster care whilst they recover.
There are many ways that people can help the Hospital, volunteering is one way but donations are crucial. Click on the link below to donate and help protect the wildlife of the Gold Coast.
